Elementor Settings in WordPress Explained in 3 minutes

So you just bought Elementor Pro, and you are excited to get started with building modern web pages with Elementor Pro. First, having a good understanding of the backend settings are important to fully understand the most advanced WordPress page builder available.

Post Types

Within the general tab, you have the ability to define what types of post types can be designed by the Elementor page builder. Just leave these checked. If you’re an advanced user, you can create custom post and content types and choose which ones that you want the builder to have access to.

Disable Default Colors

If you check this box, you will allow Elementor to pull the colors from your current theme and use them as Elementor’s default colors for their templates and widgets.

Improve Elementor

Checking the usage data tracking is a way to supply your usage data to Elementor so that heir development team can constantly keep improving Elementor based off of real user data. This means, that by checking that box you are contributing to developing feature updates and improvements to Elementor’s plugins.

Default Generic Fonts

The list of fonts used if the chosen font is not available.

Content Width

Sets the default width of the content area (Default: 1140)

Space Between Widgets

Sets the default space between widgets (Default: 20)

Stretched Section Fit To

Enter parent element selector to which stretched sections will fit to (e.g. #primary / .wrapper / main etc). Leave blank to fit to page width.

Page Title Selector

Elementor lets you hide the page title. This works for themes that have “h1.entry-title” selector. If your theme’s selector is different, please enter it above.

Tablet Breakpoint

Sets the breakpoint between desktop and tablet devices. Below this breakpoint tablet layout will appear (Default: 1025px).

Mobile Breakpoint

Sets the breakpoint between tablet and mobile devices. Below this breakpoint mobile layout will appear (Default: 768px).

Image Lightbox

Open all image links in a lightbox popup window. The lightbox will automatically work on any link that leads to an image file.
You can customize the lightbox design by going to: Top-left hamburger icon > Global Settings > Lightbox.

Elementor has some pretty awesome integrations right out of the box. I will go into more detail about each integration in a later blog post, but below is the current list of integrations that Elementor provides.

  • reCAPTCHA V3
  • Facebook SDK
  • MailChimp
  • ActiveCampaign
  • ConvertKit
  • MailerLite
  • TypeKit Web Fonts by Adobe
  • Font Awesome Pro

This tab is for advanced users only. This portion of the settings helps the advanced users get more control of Elementor like adjusting the CSS print method, or troubleshooting server configuration conflicts. We recommend not to touch any of these settings.
